Absolutely. I agree with everything you've said here.

At the same time, I would also like to point out that sometimes managing this "stuff" that is just getting older, mouldier, and less useable, comes at the expense of quality time spent visiting. During our last visit the relatives who were helping with the paint cans were so exhausted by doing so that nobody really got to chat or share good memories or even sit down in a non-dirty, non-dusty environment. It was frustrating.
