Actually, your comment here is optimistic and I would be happy if AI and what it can take over is truly bullshit currently.

However, when I read the article you cite--I find this: "LLMs lack the ability for critical thinking, planning, sustained memory and an understanding of the physical world"

I would say the majority of humans lack all those things (back when Trump was first elected I said, remember when George W. Bush, another horrible person, was president? and NOBODY I talked to remembered who he was and that he had been president a mere eight years earlier) and still work many high-paying jobs. Something like "corporate event planning"--I don't know if you need critical thinking for that. I think that's simple garbage in, garbage out--why can't an AI program/algorithm crunch an industry's worth of corporate event documents history and then slice and dice it and spit out new "events," all neatly scheduled in an online calendar for you?

I'm not afraid of AI because it's any good. I'm afraid of AI because I don't think a lot of the high-paying white-collar jobs that humans currently hold require them to be particularly human.

Thank you for reading.
