As I responded to someone else, you really don't know how to do this math until you're in the middle of it and start to see some numbers. I wrote this because I don't want others to be lulled by the cheery financial industry storyline of "your inheritance will help you someday."

My condolences on the death of your mom and I certainly wish you and your father the best of luck. Alzheimer's sucks. No other way to put it.
