But who is in charge of the tech, finance, and governments?
Honestly. I do understand what you're saying. I don't want all the generations to fight each other. But I believe we are in a culture that embraces zero-sum thinking, and that's why things look the way they do.
This is really not personal. Some of it is just the math. Even the Greatest Generation--that came before the Silent Generation--was thought to have numbered about 63 million people total. (https://www.britannica.com/topic/Greatest-Generation). There are 69 million Baby Boomers right now, and they are on track to have a longer life expectancy than the generations that came before them--and there are still 19 million Silent Generation people alive. That simply adds to our population and requires more housing units than we currently have built or available.
I really believe unless we say some of these things out loud, people won't understand the numbers and other issues at play.
