Does she let you finish the thesis-antithesis enough so that she knows that's your normal mode of speaking? I ask these basic questions because for years I thought it was pretty clear that when I was worried about something, it made me extremely cranky--but it turned out my husband had no idea that's how I worked. Once I told him--he gets it and I know to say stuff like "I'm sorry--I'm worried and it sounds like crank."

Either way, if it bothers you, I hope you can both grow to a point where she gives you a little more time to finish the whole thing, and you give her a little leeway to jump in because it probably means she really does want to converse with you.
