Except my municipality leans hard into TIF and subsidizes developers to build profit-machine multi-family dwelling. How is that fair? Nobody gives me TIF funds to pay my mortgage.

To make it even funnier, when developers in my area fail to make enough money on their poorly conceived designs, they cry hardship to my city and are offered "payment in lieu of taxes" arrangements, meaning their apartment buildings put a strain on all the systems and pay less in taxes than the tax rates suggest they should. Ridiculous system.
