EXACTLY. Some of them even did have to struggle, but money (and trying to sock away more money for your kids) evidently encourages you to forget how the regular people live.
That story from your hometown is exactly what happens. The people who profess to care most about people who can't afford housing are often the politicians/developers clamoring to build "affordable housing." So they get to act like they're solving the world's problems AND make money, and yet a lot of people still end up kicked out of their older housing. How do you even start to explain that to people?
