I agree with that.

Seems like this is where an algorithm/automated stats could actually help you. Have a couple different levels of monetizing. Articles that are still getting reads after a few months, or which get a flurry of attention? "Evergreen" boost, here's a few extra cents. Readership that keeps growing after initial week of posting? "Popularity contest" boost, a few extra cents. :) Or how about this one: Interact with every comment, with a different response? "Most chatty" boost, a few extra cents.
