I always think of the type of writing I enjoy reading as being the personal stuff--the journal stuff--especially if it's compelling. This is why I enjoyed PS I Love You.

Thank you for taking the time to spell it out. In addition to not being easy to help, I am often dense. I actually don't know how I got nearly 2k followers--the first month I followed people back but have not done that since, and mostly unfollowed anyone I had originally followed but who I wasn't reading. The followers have ticked up more steadily since I mostly stopped writing--so how they're even find me, I have no idea.
