I don't want you to die either and I'm so sorry if I've contributed to your despair.

I should add this as the flip side--I've seen older people power through lots of things. When it comes right down to it, your body often does not want to give up as quick as you fear it might. I think if anything we Gen X'ers are just in our middle-aged funk--everything seems very tenuous because there are still younger people (and ourselves!) that we are caring for. Maybe once we get through that we will find we have longer healthspans than we thought we might.
