I just laugh at that question (and I did even before I had kids). Talk about that old joke, "How do you make God laugh? Make a plan." Having kids is no guarantee of anything. It's a lot of fun, and I've enjoyed it, but I truly don't believe my kids owe me anything (except maybe to be decent people out there in the world--I do hope that).
