I once interviewed Christopher Pyle, who was a famous 1970s whistleblower who revealed the US military was spying on Americans at any public meeting/protest larger than 20 people. He went on to become a professor, and developed a course and book on privacy rights: in which he could get nobody interested. Publishers told him there was no market and people didn't care about privacy.

Privacy is already gone, unless you can buy it like Zuckerberg or bully your way into it like the state (ask Thomas Drake or Chelsea Manning how that works).
