I really hate seated office jobs and sitting in meetings always struck me as pointless and yes, taking away from other work I could be doing. I was an academic librarian and I swear in one meeting we discussed what color paper to print our instructional handouts on for like an hour. Should have taken about a minute.

It has really been a handicap to my money-making ability, the need to move around. Even when young, if given the choice between a well-paid hourly office job where I had to stay put, or a service job that probably didn't pay as much but allowed me to move around, I took the service job every time.
