I think a lot of people decry government programs and then demand their medicare checks. Economists like to assume people are logical but that doesn't mean they are.

Your point about Fox news "repeating" names has some validity. However, I also have personal experience of liberal (and/or wealthy) people calling me such names, so I know they do.
