I think you can make a lot of money out of the top 20% of any market--and if there are any attendant shortages, like computer chip shortages for cars, well, yes, they WILL abandon that bottom 80 percent. They can only make so many cars with the materials they have, and they're going to favor that high end of product--which, as you point out, is what people want anyway.
