I think you're right and that's why we're seeing a big wave of family estrangement.

There's this, but there's also the fact that even if the kids are willing and have good relationships with their parents--the kids have spouses with their own ideas of how their time needs to be spent, and jobs to work, and kids of their own to raise. We're just getting to the point where nobody has enough time to provide care to everyone.
