I understand conversations evolving. I wasn't bothered by the choice of topic--I'm ready to go along whether you want to talk economics or your aches and pains--rather the absence of any kind of give and take.

You make a fair criticism and I will work on my empathy. I really didn't mean to be unkind--I do have to give this person props for volunteering and tried to do that in the article.
