I understand what you're saying, but the sad truth is that in America (and everywhere, I suppose), what you get your education in makes the biggest difference to how much money you make. I am a person who is interested in the humanities. I am not interested in tech, health care, or most other fields that currently make money. It is only getting harder for anyone interested in the humanities to make a living, and that isn't right.

I am so thankful for my education. I do not come from a background where a college education is taken for granted. I think of my farm aunts a lot--the ones who didn't even get to go to high school. I am angry that education is always tied to making a living, which is now tied to who gets health insurance. It's a vicious cycle.
