I used the tag "satire" but I promise you that I truly learned and follow these lessons exactly as I wrote them here. Some health system, that makes you sorry for the next 20 years (as you pay higher insurance premiums for everything forever after) that you ever whispered the word "anxiety" to anyone, just because you needed some help.

My MIL is very allergic to penicillin and was recently prescribed (by her regular doctor, FFS) something in the same class. The pharmacist (or maybe even the pharmacy tech, who knows) told her, "Um, this drug is the same type as penicillin and your record says you're allergic--you need to check back with your doctor before you take this."

It's so ridiculous. It's getting harder to laugh but what else can you do?
