I was prescribed HBC for ovarian cyst control. I read all the lit and asked my doctor about blood clot risk, and she said, it's really rare, don't worry. I was on it for five horrible months until I developed...a blood clot. To compound problems, when I first had the clot looked at, at Urgent Care, she scheduled me for an ultrasound to see how bad the clot was...but didn't tell me to stop taking HBC immediately. (They finally told me that at the ultrasound appt.)

I am still furious about how my female health concerns and questions are ignored or negated at every turn. Thank you for this important article.
