I would guess that we're really heading for bigger problems (than we already have, even) with inequality. How did things get so unequal? "Gradually, and then all of a sudden."

If cost of any kind for care homes/rent/assisted living/health care continues to rise as fast as it has been, living for twenty or even ten years will not be the issue. Nobody will be able to afford five years or one year, pretty soon.

It's true that many people die quickly or unexpectedly. But a lot...a lot a lot...do not.
