If a person is a victim I don't think shaming them by referring to their "mentality" furthers the conversation or any outcomes.
I believe the system is working the way it was set up to work, in that people with lots of resources and good luck/health are socking away as many resources as they can. And, mathematically, you cannot expect one small percentage of the population to sock away all the resources and NOT have that
leave fewer to go around.
I do not actually believe in just handing people money. But I do think some re-allocation of resources currently flowing to the top 1 and top 20% of people might be in order. I actually think we've lost a lot of community and working together, rather than being victims, as the upper class simply removes itself more and more from society as a whole, through gated communities, elite schools, and networking with one another. Please consider reading "Glass House" by Brian Alexander for a more articulate telling of that story.
