It's really hard to answer these questions without asking people I've done this with--but mostly for me it happens in family groups or tight friendships that I've had for years and years and years. I would guess if any of us felt frustrated by it, one of us would have said something by now? (These people also tend to be the ones I'm most honest with, and vice versa.)

Maybe it matters the type of conversation we're having too--these are not usually technical matters. If something is missed or misunderstood, I would guess we eventually circle back to it until such a misunderstanding is resolved, as in "Oh, I get it now..." after someone has said something a couple of different ways and had other overlapping ideas put with it.
