Thank you for the kind words and thank you for your high-quality writing, which I have very much enjoyed (and will continue to enjoy).

One of my main problems with Medium is the decree from on high that if you churn out constant writing the algorithm will reward you. That's really not what it should be about. I read a lot of great stuff here, but there's also a ton of non-cited messy stuff, and with my finite time I also want to read only high quality. I don't make much money but my goal for the year is to buy more books through bookshop.org, and maybe subscribe to something like Orion to help keep them going. It has become clear to me that writing and reading types are an endangered species, and I think the charitable giving I do for the year is going to be more personal, trying to support individual authors.
