Medium's algorithm surfaces "new" people for me, based only on what I click usually, and sometimes I am in the mood for something completely opposite than what I usually click.

Sometimes I like to know there's an actual person in the process, like an editor, just picking quality writing, regardless of subject. Algorithms are dumb and just feed more of myself to me. That's the last thing I want.
