My kids are in grade school, and nothing against the schools, they've got their plates full, but they barely get through any math and literacy, they are not teaching what a democracy is or how it might work. That's a problem.

For too long in America "education" as only been seen as a way to increase one's salary, rather than as a way to learn and understand and think critically. I was in high school many years ago and I remember my algebra teacher telling us we needed math only so we could go to college and get a job that made money.
