My only thought about schools is that it seems really difficult on both sides. I think it's increasingly difficult to work in schools...but as a parent I also feel it's not easy to work with the school either.

Yours is a good question. I don't know the answer. I'm annoyed with parents that all kids have a smartphone because nobody wants to be left out and everyone wants to be reachable at all times--but I'm also annoyed with schools that, at my kid's school, almost all teaching is done on the Chromebook, on which kids play a lot of games and watch YouTube during class.

I don't get the feeling any of us are finding balance or even seeking balance. Mostly it feels like we're sending our kids someplace for 7-12 hours a day and we don't really know what goes on there.
