Not all of the pretend jobs that I don't understand are pretend--but the failure to teach and understand things about how the world works has led people to not understand why education, administration, etc., might sometimes be GOOD things. Some of the blame for that falls on those in pretend jobs a) taking enormous and out-of-all-proportion salaries for their jobs, like CEOs, and b) not actually making the world better or more harmonious through their work and showing people how their work is valid.
I am an ignoramus, but people who perpetuate the idea that the system is "broken" are also a problem--this system is working exactly the way it was meant to work, and Trump is the ultimate embodiment of this system that has been chugging along and we have all been complicit in for decades. He is a real estate developer who was born into money and failed up, and if you'll look around, that's what a lot of other "successful" people in this country are still doing.
