Oh my God, so true. Thank you for saying it. You’ll notice Democrats are louder about shouting you down than Republicans. Do exactly as I say…vote for blue and Andrew Cuomo and Hillary Clinton no matter how many health insurance, military, and financial interests lobbyists own them, just because they are blue.

Many Trump voters voted Trump for a reason. They are not all cruel, mindless, women-hating chumps. Many of them were decent people who were sick of what they viewed as Democratic institutionalized power and money. Many were themselves poor and marginalized. Unfortunately for them, I think Trump has proved Republican institutionalized power is no answer either.

But I do know if we all keep simplifying the arguments and shouting at each other, we’ll never get anywhere. Or, more accurately, we’ll get where we are today. I’m done with voting. I’m done with arguing. I’m taking the time I used to spend doing that and trying to do anything to make more money, so I can do more charitable giving to individuals in my community. If money is the only thing that matters, at least I’ll try to make some and give it in places where it matters. Politics in this country are pointless.
