Of course. Our terminology around milk and coffee is a bit different here, so I didn't put that together at first. Of course this is how I learned how to froth coffees as well; from the sound of the steaming wand (I can still remember how it passed from chug to gurgle to whine to slightly higher pitched whine, meaning it was done). It was always a point of pride when you could do that without using the little stick thermometer in your frothing jug. I don't know that I ever could have judged it from the temp of the side, though...
