Oh my gosh, I have definitely seen and heard "quieter" cultures, or, as my spouse calls his family, "better-mannered" cultures and groups that let people completely finish their sentence before jumping in. But wow, in some regions I would guess a person waiting for permission to start speaking would be waiting a long time!

I enjoyed learning more about this subject too. I had never heard the term "cooperative overlapping" before now and I took a lot of Communication Arts classes!
