Oh, my lord, the energy needs, the water needs, I keep forgetting about that where AI (and bitcoin is concerned). An excellent point.

I have never really considered a universal basic income and don't know anything about it. To me it seems there's work around--we just need to pay people more to do it. CNAs come to mind in particular. No care home anywhere seems to be able to stay staffed, and I don't really picture robots/AI being able to keep elderly people with dementia clean and borderline comfortable for some time to come.
