Oh, Sailing Spark,
I am pulling for you and your mom and your sister too. Even when you want to provide the care, it is just so much to do. Thank you for doing it, the world needs more caregivers than it realizes.
Taking care of an elderly parent is way more work than raising kids. Kids are not full-size adults, just the mobility and hygiene issues alone are a million times harder. I'm raising two kids and not once did it make me as bone weary as helping my mother with dementia.
I hope karma comes back around to you and treats you to a trouble- and worry-free time as you age. Thank you for reading and good luck.
