Several people I've known who have gotten there have told me some variation of "the 90s are not for wussies." Boy do I believe that. I wish you and your mom and your stepdad luck.

It's hard if you really did save your money to pay for your care and hoped to leave something to your kids--only to find it's really difficult, mathematically, to do that. These are not easy times for anyone to wrap their heads around.
