Take it from someone who is actually much better at saving money than making money--with health care costs rising the way they are, very few people can save enough to pay for care.

I realized this way back when I had a baby and the bills (most of which I was lucky enough to have insurance to cover) totaled more than 50 grand. At that point, 50 grand was more than I made a year as a professional librarian. You simply cannot have a society like that.
