I definitely want more people to start asking questions about what their later years will look like, and I support better health and eating--but I also believe there's absolutely nothing most of us can do about dementia. My mother lived a lifestyle of whole foods, great physical work and fitness, little natural anxiety. My aunt also suffered from it, had the same great health habits as my mother, and also kept her mind agile, getting her GED and learning a second language well into her 60s and 70s.

I really do believe it's just a matter of what happens to the human brain and body when it passes a certain age threshold. It doesn't happen to everyone, but it happens to a lot of otherwise very healthy people.
