Thank you for reading and I absolutely respect you now focusing your energy on yourself. I feel that too many caregivers (and even those employed in the field) are grinding themselves down to nothing, and nobody else is noticing--and won't notice until it is far too late and there are no caregivers left at any price.
I'm not really one to refer to the good old days because I recognize the "good old days" were rife with their own problems. But to some extent one facet of our life this decade is the absolute lack of community and support--not only overall support in terms of insurance and health care and caregiving help, but also in terms of some sort of professional/work satisfaction in smaller pools. I feel like many people used to feel more autonomy in their localized careers, even if they weren't hugely financially compensated. Now it's move where you can get a job that pays more than 100 grand--or you're a loser.
Crazy times. Please know I appreciate the work you did. Helping others is the most important and least seen work around. I wish you only the best of luck and health for you and yours as you move forward.
