I believe all humans are on a continuum of incompetence, good and bad health, and stubborness, so it is very hard to tell on any given day where we are all matching up, even when we know people very well.

In re: the trying something new, I think I meant we all have to try new ways of becoming caregivers, and my mom has to try new ways of allowing herself to be cared for. I don't actually believe you have to leave your house to learn and try something new, particularly if it is a new way of being.
