Thank you for trying to explain this to people--it is really not talked about, at all.

I agree that inheritance can be a really tough/touchy subject. I should make clear I don't think my parents owe me anything, and I am trying to help provide the best care for my mom possible because she's a great mom. Not least because wow, she and dad foresaw that it was going to take a lot of money. I think a lot of kids are going to be expected to pay for elder care just like a lot of people currently pay for child care. And it's all getting more expensive.
