Thank you for your heartfelt comment and let's just agree to agree that rape and sexual violence is awful. My social circle is extremely small and always has been, so I don't personally know many people who have experienced rape, but I definitely know a lot of women who have experienced coercion and that is also unpleasant. My MIL also worked for a rape crisis center and I learned about how prevalent rape and incest are.

I would like to reiterate that my comment did not say all politicians act this way. I said "many." Sadly, I really perceive that to be true. (Please note "many" can mean many things--as in, even " a few" is "too many"). My main suggestion here was that obviously people know all these unsavory stories about Donald Trump, and yet he remains popular, so to me that seems to suggest that a lot of people simply don't care that he is an abuser. I think that goes for a lot of abusers. How many people lauded Harvey Weinstein while knowing all the time what he was doing? What I would like us all to examine is what is it in human nature that leads us to want to be part of the power and the in-group, rather than identifying more with the powerless.

You are right that there definitely should be more to a president than "I want to watch TV with him."
