I think all generations had their own challenges--as previously noted, I wouldn't have wanted to work on the farm as hard as my mother did from the 1940s through their semi-retirement in the 1990s--but I do think the Boomers and the Silents were gifted a bit more time and resources than many. I'd be okay with that too if I sensed they were using that time to connect with the younger generations, or to volunteer, mentor, or support younger workers. I just don't get the feeling that many of them were interested in training the younger set. Nancy Pelosi and Mitch McConnell come to mind here. Still working in their 80s? At a high-prestige, high-power job? You're telling me they couldn't bring up some younger members of their parties who better understood the challenges of the world of 2024?
