I know I have no worth as a writer, even if I was skilled at it it's not a skill people with money want to pay for. But I would like the courtesy of simply being paid in response to some trackable metric, if metrics are really all we care about in our tech world. I wonder why so many people are willing to put up with bullshit in their relationships; I think it's at least partly because the work world is now also training us with guesswork crap.
