That's fair. They may not be actually be trying to keep others down, but "not really thinking about others" is definitely a problem and not a nice trait.

Part of my concern is for the top 20% as well. If the whole plan is to buy your way to safety, where nothing bad can touch you, that's going to be an increasingly difficult plan to execute. Between climate change and growing social issues and disunity, even a massive amount of money may soon not be enough to keep you "secure."
