This is not true in my city. We used to bitch about how teachers didn't need a master's degree, had summers off, got paid more than us, and LOVED to call us 5 minutes before closing and say, I need 20 picture books on environmentalism for my class in the morning, could you pull those for me so I can just pick them up? Thanks!

Of course now that I've got kids in school I'm a lot more sympathetic to teachers.
