This makes me so angry. I grew up growing and canning my own food and it SUCKED. Left very little time for reading, I'll tell you that.

I just wanted a nice little lower middle-class life where I had time to read after supper and could get an okay job that let me generously pay other wonderful people who enjoy getting in touch with the earth and all that bullshit to raise the food. So much for that.
