This week I was speaking with someone who thought we could keep the Electoral College, except it shouldn't be winner take all, it should be proportional--each candidate should get a proportion of EC votes that matches the proportion of the popular vote they get in the state. This seemed very reasonable to me, but my answer was, Does money want the Electoral College to work this way? And I'm guessing money doesn't, which is why it won't happen.
