Totally agreed.

It is easier to sell things to people when they think in simplistic terms, so every part of our society is aimed at not truly educating them or inviting critical thinking, most notably all of our schools. How about this golden oldie from my youth: "you have to pay attention in high school so you can go to college and make lots of money." Nothing about true education in that sentence, and I heard it through 12 years of school.
