Except I personally never wanted a job that pretended to use planning or critical thinking (hence my desire never to work in library admin, even though some very good people work in library admin--it's still too meeting oriented and "strategic" to me).

What I really wanted to do was shelve books and answer some reference questions. I was willing to take less money to do that. But a lot of those jobs have already been culled due to the Internet.
