Well, when done well, clam chowder is a national treasure--but I don't know if you'd term it a natural resource. :)

I need to do better on this point myself. I hated farming so much that I went too far in the other direction--not teaching my kids how to plant anything. That was a mistake. But I was caregiving and working and only had so much time--something had to give, and playing around with a garden is what gave.
