But some of the change that came about in the wake of the Russian Revolution also came about from protests and other events. And God, I'd really rather not live through the Reign of Terror and/or Stalin. I can't believe that in the 21st century, with all of us being so smart and AI and what not, that we can't come up with one other way, or a few other ways, to better affect change.

I hear what you are saying on cancel culture. Our state of discourse is not good, and you are right that people are being encouraged to act on every feeling they have, sadly, it seems, mostly in negative ways.
